July 2007
Two times each year, in the spring and in the fall, the Illinois Probation and Court Services Association is privileged to present to its membership the opportunity to attend training conferences that are designed to accomplish, at the minimum, two clear objectives: provide probation, detention and court service professionals in the State of Illinois comprehensive and diverse training workshops so that attendees can go back to their own offices and apply what they’ve learned and begin discussion about implementing ideas or new strategies. It is also an excellent forum to network with colleagues and pursue friendships made through the years of attendance.
The Association’s conferences are held throughout the state in different counties. It is an excellent opportunity to get to know the state and how your colleagues operate in their jurisdictions. The Spring 2007 Training Conference was held in Bloomington, Illinois and was hosted by McLean County Director of Court Services Roxanne Castleman and her very dedicated staff. The 2007 Fall Conference is scheduled for Collinsville, IL on October 17-19, 2007 and will be hosted by Madison County. Plans for this conference include training for management, officer safety, sex offender legislation and treatment, Balanced and Restorative Justice, and much more. The annual fall awards banquet held during the conference is expressly arranged to honor nominated colleagues for outstanding commitment to the profession and the Association. Make your plans to attend. Registration information will be sent in August.
