The Illinois Balanced and Restorative Justice Initiative in conjunction with IPCSA’s Fall Conference announces a Gain a better understanding of the full range of restorative practices and their particular uses. Discover the differences between various restorative practices – where they are best used – how they are implemented. Learn through experiential hands-on training with BARJ practitioners. Take home essential materials to help you discover ways to implement what you’ve learned. Thursday, October 18, 2007 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Collinsville, Illinois Break out sessions featuring Peacemaking Circles, Victim-Offender Dialogue, Accountability Conferences, and Neighborhood Accountability Boards in held round robin fashion will familiarize participants in the various practices. Experienced practitioners will discuss the similarities and differences to enable participants to make better decisions regarding which practice they may want to implement in their jurisdictions. There will be time for questions and answers and networking. Teams of judges, state’s attorneys, defense attorneys, probation staff, law enforcement and community agency staff are encouraged to attend. One night’s lodging will be available for those traveling more than 50 miles from Collinsville. Lunch will be provided in conjunction with the IPCSA Fall Conference.
