  2. Goodbye to Brenda Morrell.  We wish you success and happiness in Pennsylvania.  Brenda has been a huge part of the SAC for many years and will be missed.
  3.   Training:  Workshop proposals were due to the program committee by July 16th.  Prism Project is nearly finalized and will be held on the Wed. afternoon sessions.  A sign up sheet will be at the SAC table since class size is limited.  Great job Andy, Jody and Corinne.  Andy C., Mike and Tracy will finalize drug testing workshop, since planning is still going on.  It will be held on Thursday and we will leave it up to the Program Committee if they would like Mike to do a repeat session or just one.  Mike will be focusing on interpreting the results of drug tests, various methods of testing and ways in which clients will attempt to adulterate specimens.
  4.   Silent Auction:  Everyone is asked to bring 6-12 cash and carry items $2 to $5 maximum price.  Also, everyone is asked to bring one large item to bid upon.  Past items have included craft items, blankets, gift certificates to restaurants and hotels, framed art, televisions, etc.  Please contact Judi or Tracy with any questions.  Auction will run Wed. noon to Thursday at 4:00 or 4:30 p.m.  Bids must be whole dollar amounts.  Winners can pick up items Thursday afternoon or Friday during the breakfast meeting.  Everyone is asked to bring ideas of a charity for us to donate a portion of our proceeds. Amy will check on Chestnut’s residential program, Chestnut Hill, in Collinsville as a possible recipient.  Final decision will be made at the August 15th meeting.  Andy Y. has volunteered to make the sign.
  5.    Additionally, Liz Rickert will have a massage chair at the SAC table for an additional fundraiser.  Cost will be 5 minutes for $5.00.  She will have a sign up sheet at the table as well.  Thanks Liz!
  6.    Prevention project:  Everyone is asked to bring or email at least 2 articles, stories, etc. regarding substance abuse related incidents in their local areas.  Tracy and Liz will continue working on setting up a traveling display to have at the table.  Anyone interested in helping with this project, please contact Tracy or Liz.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Training:  meeting will be (was?) held in July to develop 2 year plan for topics SAC wants to cover at upcoming conferences.  This information will be presented for further discussion at the August meeting.

Website & Newsletter:  submit ideas for the fall newsletter to Mike ASAP.  Website:  We brainstormed many ideas for inclusion in the website including the frog mascot, IPCSA logo, mike’s newsletter, minutes, agenda, pictures, guest book, training topic suggestions, contact information and current membership.  Deborah and Andy Y. will be meeting at TASC to develop the site.  TASC will be covering our costs and allowing us to use their resources to develop the website.  Special thanks to TASC for helping us with this project!

Handout Table, Fund Raising, and Membership:  We are very low on posters, pens, pencils, erasers and the like.  We have none or very few hand outs on meth and opiates.  Please try to locate materials and bring to the conference.  If possible, we would like to see whomever we donate silent auction funds to come to our meeting at conference and do a brief presentation about their program, facility, etc.  We will discuss this in more detail at August meeting.
