Committee objectives:      Goals include soliciting nominations from a variety of counties, determining if criteria had been followed for all nominations, maintaining confidentiality, and generating interest in the committee across the state.   In 2004, twenty one (21) counties were represented as winners of awards—two more than in 2003.  Each nomination was reviewed to determine compliance with criteria and those that were not in compliance were not given consideration.  It appeared as though confidentiality was not an issue again this year.  At the Fall 2004 awards banquet, 45 distinguished service awards were presented, in addition to the major awards.  Those who received awards will also get a picture and congratulatory letter.   The University of Illinois at Springfield presented the Leadership Award to Lake County’s group reporting program.  Projected budget:  $50 miscellaneous/meeting expenses
