Our first annual craft sale was held at the
spring 2004 conference in Springfield Illinois. We raised $415 for the
Sojourn Shelter and Services, an emergency shelter for victims of domestic
violence.
At the fall 2004 conference in Chicago we
held a 50/50 raffle. The raffle raised $626 which was donated to Deborah’s
Place, a shelter for homeless and formerly homeless women.
In Rockford during the spring 2005
conference we held our second annual craft sale. This sale raised $250 for
PHASE, an agency that provides counseling for men, women, and adolescents
with substance abuse and domestic violence issues.
The committee has also created a statewide
gender responsive resource directory and is working with AOIC to develop the
Gender Responsive Guidelines Manual for the state.
