IPCSA EXECUTIVE BOARD
2006-2007 Goals

    • Ensure the passage of the SLEP bill using whatever means to support, inform, and promote the bill.

ACTION STEPS

*Conduct an e-mail campaign
*Take busload of officers to Springfield to promote bill
*Create a FACT sheet on SLEP
*Make contact Madigan’s office

  • Expand current resources of revenue for the Association to strengthen IPCSA’s fiscal foundation.

ACTION STEPS

  • *Increasing total active membership to 1000 by the end of the year
  • * Increase participation at Fall conference to 400
  • *Develop a strategy to provide visibility at the Association conferences
  • *Work with membership committee to establish specific steps in helping

Executive Board recruit new members

*Apply for grant funding to develop statewide CMO training initiative

  • Strengthen collaboration with AOIC, fellow criminal justice associations/ agencies and statewide initiatives through joint legislative, training and research-based initiatives.

ACTION STEPS

  • *Enhancing our partnerships and encouraging departments’ participation
  • with AOIC, NIC, CIJ, JDAI, and BARJ to implement statewide
  • initiatives that are research-based and produce improved outcomes
  • which benefit the probation and court services profession as a whole
  • *Assist the IPCSA Program Committee in developing workshops and
  • training which focus on community-based juvenile detention reform,
  • balanced and restorative justice, and evidence-based principles in order
  • to keep current with practices, issues and innovations; as well as continue
  • to develop professional skills
  • *Working jointly with the IPCSA Lobbyist, IPCSA Legislative
  • Committee, AOIC and fellow criminal justice associations/ agencies in
  • supporting and/or developing legislature that promotes best practices in
  • the field of probation and court services
  • *Working with Illinois Universities to teach courses that focus on EBP in
  • their criminal justice major.
  • *Enhancing our relationship with the probation subcommittee of the
  • Conference of Chief Judges
  • Utilize IPCSA committee structure for clarification, analysis, and planning of current issues and submit their findings to the Executive Board to assist in their discussion making process

ACTION STEPS

*An annual Plan meeting will be held with all committees of IPCSA and Executive Board

*Promote open discussion at the committee meetings and encourage members to take positions on issues and provide feedback to the Executive Board to assist in making decisions for our association.

  • Assist in advising the Supreme Court and its Administrative Office regarding strategies and options for state probation funding that acknowledges local resources, maintains essential services and supports effective practices. 
  • Review and Revise the IPCSA Constitution
