IPCSA Goals for the JDAI Initiative
Implemented Fall Conference 2006

  1. Training
    • For Executive Board - the board will be educated on the JDAI Initiative by the end of November by attending the JDAI site visit in Chicago
    • For CMO’s – CMO’s will be educated on the basics of the JDAI Initiative through three Regional Trainings provided in partnership by the IPCSA CMO Committee/Executive Board and AOIC. The goal is to have these regional trainings accomplished by the middle of February if Bart Lubow’s schedule allows.
    • For Detention Staff and Probation Officers – Provide training workshops during the conferences held in the Spring and Fall
  1. Express the importance of being involved with the JDAI Initiative with members of the association by covering the topics outlined on the handout entitled “Top 10 reasons why Jurisdictions should implement Juvenile Detention reform”
  1. Identify a specific Board Member to be liaison to both Partner’s Group and the 

Detention/JDAI Committee

  1. Engage the Detention/JDAI Committee on pointed discussions requesting their input on issues related to detention reform

  1. Executive Board will play a more directive role with committees requesting 

The committees to reach conclusions on issues presented to them and refer their decisions back to the Executive Board
