MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Annual Plan for 2005

Chairperson(s)/ County:                   Nichole Deppe, Madison County

 Total Members:                                 13

Summary of prior committee objectives and new objectives:

Over the last year, the Membership Committee has continued to organize and coordinate the New Member/ Committee Orientation Reception and the Student/ Internship Program.  The reception now acts as a platform where committee representatives can present committee overviews to the Association’s new members as it continues to serves as a gathering that welcomes those members.  Additionally, our committee proposed and secured an agreement between Rosecrance Health Network and the IPCSA where Rosecrance acted as the reception sponsor for the last reception.  Our committee hopes to continue with similar such sponsorships in the years to come.

At the spring 2004 Conference our committee welcomed interns from Sangamon County to our Association.  Each intern submitted a letter to the Association offering their thanks to the Membership Committee as well as to the Association for allowing them to participate and attend.  Our committee is very proud of the aforementioned projects and look forward to our continued involvement.

 New Objectives for 2005:

Continue to work through our District Representatives and all committee members to recruit new members and maintain current membership.  We have taken a more active role in creating a current membership lest and will use those lists to assist in re-dividing the state for our sponsors.

Continue to host the New Member/Committee Orientation Reception while considering ways in which to improve the event.  We will also continue to recruit for reception sponsors.

Student/Internship Program will continue to be a committee focus.  This particular program not only increases IPCSA membership but it encourages college students to continue to pursue careers in probation and its related fields.

We will begin recruiting new members by attending Basic Training sessions for new officers from around the state.  Through this informational process we hope to bring the benefits of IPCSA to new officers, and answer any questions that they may have about IPCSA.

Our committee will continue to gather information and materials to be complied for the IPCSA Video Project.  Video footage was gathered at the Fall Conference and we will continue to do so at other upcoming IPCSA events.  This project will assist our committee and the Resource Committee as we both recruit new members and vendors to IPCSA.
