Summary of prior committee
objectives and new objectives:
Throughout the last
several years, the Membership Committee has continued to organize and
coordinate the New Member/ Committee Orientation Reception and the Student/
Internship Program. The reception now acts as a platform where committee
representatives can present committee overviews to the Association’s new
members as it continues to serves as a gathering that welcomes those
members. Additionally, our committee proposed and secured an agreement
between Rosecrance Health Network and the IPCSA where Rosecrance acted as
the reception sponsor for the last reception. Our committee hopes that the
relationship between IPCSA and Rosecrance will continue to prosper for many
years to come.
At the spring 2005
Conference our committee welcomed interns from Dupage County to our
Association. Each intern was encouraged to submit a letter to the
Association offering their thanks to the Membership Committee as well as to
the Association for allowing them to participate and attend. Our committee
is very proud of the aforementioned projects and look forward to our
continued involvement.
New Objectives for 2006:
·
Continue to work through our
District Representatives and all committee members to recruit new members
and maintain current membership. We have taken a more active role in
creating a current membership list and will use those lists to assist in
re-dividing the state for our sponsors. We are hoping to target those
counties who’s membership has decreased in the past.
·
Continue to host the New
Member/Committee Orientation Reception while considering ways in which to
improve the event. We will also continue our relationship with Rosecrance
for their support in sponsoring the reception.
·
Student/Internship Program will
continue to be a committee focus. This particular program not only
increases IPCSA membership but it encourages college students to continue to
pursue careers in probation and its related fields. We have continued to
introduce more college students to the inner workings of IPCSA.
·
We will continue recruiting new
members by attending Basic Training sessions for new officers from around
the state. Through this informational process we will bring the benefits of
IPCSA to new officers, and answer any questions that they may have about
IPCSA. Throughout 2005 this experience has brought new recruits accurate
information about IPCSA and the benefits of their membership.
·
Our committee will put all of the
video project material together for a future presentation to the
association. Video footage was gathered at the Fall Conference and we will
continue to do so at other upcoming IPCSA events. This project has assisted
our committee and the Resource Committee as we both recruit new members and
vendors to IPCSA.
