Pretrial Services Advisory
Committee Meeting Minutes
October 19, 2005
IPCSA fall Conference
Holliday Inn, Decatur
Members
Present: Anita Maxey (Macon), Gary Nelsen (Macon), David Hitchcock (AOIC),
Sharjeel Rizvi (Kankakee), Rich Ludolph (AOIC)
The
committee held a meeting at the IPCSA Fall Conference. The first item of
business was the minutes from the previous meeting which were accepted with
no corrections or additions.
Rich
Ludolph was introduced to the committee as the new AOIC contact person.
Rich is primarily handling the Interstate Compact initiatives, but has the
additional responsibility to work with Pretrial Services. The committee
welcomed Rich as our newest addition. We are looking forward to working
with Rich on all of our “works in progress”.
Discussion next surrounded the survey initiative. The AOIC has offered to
partner with our efforts to obtain information from the Illinois counties to
determine the nature and extent of Pretrial Services being offered around
the state. Recognizing that Pretrial Services may look different in varying
jurisdictions, we would like to ensure that we are all on “the same page”
with the same mission and vision. It was decided that we would utilize the
IPCSA Directory, along with information from the Administrative Office to
further identify agencies to which the surveys will be sent. We recognize
that phone calls may be necessary to prompt the expedited return of the
surveys for the committee’s tabulation.
The
committee would like to meet again before the holidays. There was
discussion about returning to the previous practice of visiting Pretrial
programs around the state to further our networking and program
understanding initiatives. This discussion was tabled for the next
meeting. Committee members will receive notice of the time, date, and
location, via e-mail. With that, the committee meeting was adjourned.
