ANNUAL PLAN FOR 2005

Name of Committee: IPCSA Specialized Services/Sex Offender Committee

Chairperson(s)/County: Jerry Cobetto (Madison) and Scott Summers (Lake)
 

Total Committee Members: 25

Summary of prior committee objectives:

 

  1. To work more in concert with ATSA and ILATSA in reference to future trainings; and to get ATSA “more on board” with probation, especially as this relates to the containment model.
     

  1. To solicit and encourage training ideas from the committee members.
     

  1. To solicit sex offender articles from the committee members for “Outlook”.
     

  1. To get the committee members, especially those from smaller/rural counties with limited funding and resources, to look at ways to implement the sex offender management standards and guidelines that are a result of HB 3556.
     

  1. To continue a dialogue with regard to HB 3555 (the Bill on lifetime probation for Illinois sex offenders), and how to effectively make it work despite the potential for high caseloads.
     

New Objectives:

 

  1. To continue numbers “1,” “2,” “3” and “4” as stated above.
     

  1. To get the committee to compile statistics with regard to which counties in Illinois are beginning to implement the new sex offender management standards and guidelines that are a result of HB 3556, and to what extent.
     

  1. To dialogue, as well as share ideas with other counties in the state on how to more effectively implement the standards and guidelines that were mentioned above.


Projected Budget: $200.00
 

Reason for Request: Incidental expenses for meetings and mailings.
