Meeting Minutes                                                                                   

June 22, 2005

Present:  Tracy Burke Carriere, Bureau Co. Probation; Brenda Morrell, LaSalle Co. Probation;  Andy Ceresa, Putnam Co. Probation; Deborah Norman, Lake Co. Probation; Ann Brezinski, Lake Co. Probation; Craig Cooper, TASC; Gary Jakubowski, Cook Co. Juvenile;  Mike Carey, Champaign Co. Probation; Corinne Stremming, Morgan Co. Probation; Sherri Arenas, Champaign Co. Probation; Andy Young, TASC

  1. Spring Conference:  Henry Co. won 3-D Month Contest.  Tracy will contact them as we have not been notified as to where they want the $100 donated.  We made a profit of $80.00 at the Carnival.  Committee voted to hold the carnival again next year.  Andy C. advised that one certificate for his Circuit is missing from those made for the 3-D Month Contest.  Tracy will check to see if it is with the carnival stuff at her office and call Andy.
  2. Tracy asked that Craig or Mike contact Carol and submit an article for the Outlook.
  3. Mike is up for re-election at Fall Conference.  Everyone please make sure to vote.  Also, Mike announced that there is an opening on the E-Board.  The position of State Wide Representative is open
  4. Fall Conference:
    1. Training—Tracy is working on securing the PRISM training with the State Police for this conference.  Program committee has approved it verbally, but need confirmation from State Police.  Due date to submit information to Program Committee is July 15, 2005. 
    2. Hand out table:  Everyone is asked to bring items for the table.  New pamphlets and posters are available from National Clearinghouse for Substance Abuse but also check other sources such as IDOT, internet, etc.
    3. Committee voted to hold the Silent Auction at Fall Conference.  Everyone is to bring 6-12 cash and carry items and 1 large item for the actual auction.  Will close voting at end of day—probably 4 pm on Thursday.  Cash and carry items should be no more than about $4.00 each.
    4. Committee Meeting:  Andy Y. suggested getting a speaker to present information on Access to Recovery (ATR) Grant.   He will attempt to secure the speaker by Aug. 10th so we can send out advertisements/invitations statewide to invite people to our meeting.  Speaker will have approximately 30 minutes of our meeting which will be Oct. 19th at 10:00.
    5. Anyone who will be available is asked to meet at 8:30 am on Oct 19th to help set up tables, etc. 
  5. Local Happenings:
    1. Lake County is staring TIM Court.
    2. A juror in Champaign Co. brought a .38 cal. Weapon to court.
    3. LaSalle Co. had a Courthouse Security Officer retire and his position will not be replaced.  Many are concerned about poor security there.
