• Fall Conference

Fall Conference Training Report was given by Jody who has arranged for Prism training to be presented by the State Police. Andy has requested 100' by 100' in the parking lot for the driving demonstration. Jason volunteered to help with the training during the conference. There will be a limited number of participants allowed to sign up for the driving demonstration. Andy Y. will prepare a sign indicating the a sign-up sheet for this is at the Committee table.

Mike Carey reported on the drug testing training scheduled for Thursday a.m. of the conference. A room for 50 participants has been requested.

The committee will sponsor a "hand-out" table at the conference. All persons available should report to that area at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday of the conference to help with set-up. Members discussed possible sources of items for the table. There will also be a silent auction. A sign-up sheet was circulated for help at the tables. Additional help will be needed.

Liz will be bringing a massage chair for fund raising. Liz will take care of setting the price and posting the availability. Andy will follow-up with her.

Following discussion and a motion by Andy Y, seconded by Corinne, committee membership voted that half of the proceeds from the auction and from the chair massages would go to Chestnut in Maryville, earmarked for client incentives and transportation of probationers to appointments.

• Training Plan

Andy Young presented the draft for a two-year training plan which included the identification of 6 preliminary subject areas. The plan was discussed and a portion of a tape produced by Carl Reddick viewed. Mike C. advised he believes Dade-Behring drug testing company is still willing to assist us by paying the costs of a presenter. Corinne is going to find out the cost and dates of availability of Carl Reddick. All members present supported the concept of a long-term training plan and a lot of input was provided to the training sub-committee. A finalized training plan was requested from the sub-committee to include with this year’s annual plan.

The committee discussed getting ideas for trainings from other association members by listing an invitation to submit on our website.

A meeting of the sub-committee is scheduled for 9/28/07 at AOIC in Springfield to finalize the plan.
